Waiting On Wednesday!

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine, that highlights upcoming book releases that everyone is waiting on.

This weeks selection is:

Title: Vortex (Insignia #2)
Author: S.J. Kincaid
Published: July 2nd, 2013
Goodreads Summary:

The impossible was just the beginning. Now in their second year as superhuman government weapons-in-training at the Pentagonal Spire, Tom Raines and his friends are mid-level cadets in the elite combat corps known as the Intrasolar Forces. But as training intensifies and a moment arrives that could make or break his entire career, Tom’s loyalties are again put to the test.

Encouraged to betray his ideals and friendships for the sake of his country, Tom is convinced there must be another way. And the more aware he becomes of the corruption surrounding him, the more determined he becomes to fight it, even if he sabotages his own future in the process.

Drawn into a power struggle more dramatic than he has ever faced before, Tom stays a hyperintelligent step ahead of everyone, like the exceptional gamer he is—or so he believes. But when he learns that he and his friends have unwittingly made the most grievous error imaginable, Tom must find a way to outwit an enemy so nefarious that victory seems hopeless. Will his idealism and bravado cost him everything—and everyone that matters to him?

Filled with action and intelligence, camaraderie and humor, the second book in S.J. Kincaid’s futuristic World War III Insignia trilogy continues to explore fascinating and timely questions about power, politics, technology, loyalty, and friendship.

My Thoughts:

I loved Insignia, it has been one of my favorite reads of this year, I can't wait to read this one and I really like the color of this one. What are you waiting on this week?

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme that is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

Good morning everyone! This week's list is my top ten favorite Kick-Ass Heroines, I love me some tough and strong girls, so I hope you enjoy my list!

1. Katniss from The Hunger Games By: Suzanne Collins.
I really don't feel that this list could be completed without mention this girl. She is an obvious pick and definitely one of my all time favorite YA characters!

2. Rose from The Vampire Academy Series By: Richelle Mead
The Vampire Academy Series is one of my favorite YA series of all time and Richelle Mead is one of my favorite authors. I absolutely loved Rose and she is definitely a kick ass girl for sure, and one of my all time favorite characters.

3. Dru from the Strange Angels Series By: Lili St. Crow
I read this series in the span of about a week, it was so good that I just couldn't stop reading. Dru was so fierce and independent. I loved her!

4. Karou from the Daughter of Smoke And Bone Series By: Laini Taylor
Ok, so I am reading this one right now and Karou is awesome, I love her and her blue hair. She definitely knows how to handle herself.

5. Adelice from the Crewel World Series By: Gennifier Albin
My review for this book doesn't go up till hopefully Friday but, I will say that I loved this book and Adelice was a great heroine and she took on the most powerful people of her world.

6.  Allison from the The Imortal Rules, The Blood of Eden Series By: Julie Kagawa
I love Jule Kagawa's books I  have read every single one of them. Allie was a great heroine and she stayed strong even in the midst of a vampire apocalyptic world!

7. Tally from the Uglies Series By: Scott Westerfeld
Tally was definitely an awesome heroine going against everything her world believes in. I still need to read the last two books in the series!

Katsa was so strong and definitely a kick ass girl, she was one of the first to come to mind when thinking up this list!

 9. Clary from The Mortal Instruments Series By: Cassandra Clare
When I first read City of Bones, I will admit that I didn't see Clary as a kick ass heroine but, throughout the series she has grown and become one which I loved, she really has grown into herself and being a Shadowhunter!

10. Megan from The Iron Fey Series By: Julie Kagawa
Like I said above I love Julie and I loved Megan, she was definitely an awesome heroine and she entered the land of the fey with no fear to save her brother! I loved her so much.
